Waiver Policy
Waiver Policy for UJLBM
TMP Universal Journal of Law, Business, and Management (UJLBM) aims to make high-quality research accessible to all scholars and researchers, regardless of their financial background. To support this goal, the journal offers a Waiver Policy to authors who are unable to cover Article Processing Charges (APC) due to financial constraints. This policy ensures that the publication of valuable research is not hindered by financial barriers.
- Eligibility for Waiver
The APC waiver may be granted under the following conditions:
- Financial Hardship: Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries, as classified by the World Bank, may be eligible for an APC waiver if they are unable to afford the standard publication fee.
- Special Circumstances: Authors experiencing exceptional circumstances, such as lack of funding or institutional support, can apply for a waiver. Each request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Application Process for Waiver
To apply for an APC waiver, authors must submit a Waiver Request along with their manuscript submission. The request should include the following information:
- A brief explanation of the financial situation or circumstances justifying the waiver request.
- A statement confirming that the author is not receiving financial support or funding to cover the APC.
- Any additional supporting documents that may help to assess the financial hardship.
The Waiver Request should be submitted as part of the manuscript submission through the UJLBM Online Submission System.
- Evaluation of Waiver Requests
Once the waiver request is submitted, the editorial team will evaluate it based on the provided financial information and the journal's available resources. The following factors will be considered:
- The author’s country of residence and the classification of the country’s income status by the World Bank.
- The author’s financial situation, as outlined in the waiver request.
- Availability of funding or sponsorship for publication.
Authors will be notified within 2-3 weeks regarding the approval or rejection of their waiver request.
- Full Waiver or Partial Waiver
- Full Waiver: Authors who meet the eligibility criteria will receive a full waiver for the APC.
- Partial Waiver: In some cases, a partial waiver may be granted if the author’s financial situation warrants it. A partial waiver reduces the APC but does not eliminate it entirely.
- Conditions for Waiver
- Waivers are granted solely for the Article Processing Charges (APC) and do not cover other expenses such as additional figures, excessive revisions, or translation services.
- Authors who are granted a waiver are expected to follow the standard submission, peer-review, and revision process in the same manner as all other authors.
- Waiver Availability
The number of APC waivers granted each year may be limited based on available journal resources. Therefore, authors are encouraged to apply for the waiver early during the submission process.
- Transparency and Accountability
UJLBM strives to maintain transparency in the waiver process. The journal will review waiver requests impartially and ensure that all decisions are made based on the merit of the request and the journal's available resources.
This Waiver Policy is subject to change, and authors will be informed of any updates in a timely manner.
