      <abstract>
        <p>This paper delves into the intriguing notion of legal identity for acknowledged terrorist entities in today’s interconnected world. It posits that these groups pose a formidable challenge to the conventional international law structures devised for sovereign states. The study scrutinizes how, in spite of universal denunciation, certain terrorist entities attain recognition and legal footing, along with the repercussions for the international legal framework and the global society. The scenario of Taiwan bestowing legal recognition upon the East Turkestan Islamic Movement illustrates the intricate dilemmas at play. While Taiwan maintains that this action aids in prosecution efforts, critics worry that it may inadvertently validate terrorism. The paper ultimately asserts that terrorist entities typically do not possess legal identity, yet the debate persists as a contentious issue laden with formidable obstacles in the fight against terrorism.</p>
